Last week we launched our new 'What About Law' initiative, welcoming a group of students from local school Wheatley Park to our Oxford offices. What About Law is designed to give A Level students thinking about pursuing the legal profession, a flavour of what life is like in a Law Firm, the various and differing routes one can take into the profession and the numerous careers that exist within the Law.

The students first spent time listening to insights from several of our Lawyers and Business Services Team, including CEO Victoria Wright and Head of Marketing and CSR Sam Ridgway, about their educational backgrounds, respective routes into the legal profession and what they enjoy most about their day-to-day work. The WAB team then gave some 'top tips' for A-Level students looking to pursue a career in the law, followed by time for Q&A.

The second half of the programme was skills based and focussed on some of the key competencies needed in the legal profession. The students went through two exercises designed to develop both attention to detail and pitching and presentation ability.

This was a brilliant afternoon for all involved and we couldn't have asked for a better group of students to kick-off this new programme!

If you think the What about Law session could be of interest or help to your students, please reach out to Sam Ridgway at sam.ridgway@wablegal.com to discuss this further.
